The Hourglass is the model with which Balenciaga demonstrated that an icon can be built around a single idea: the curvilinear base that narrows at the center and gives the bag the shape of an hourglass. In the XS size, that shape becomes almost sculptural, while the crocodile-effect leather makes it even more rigid, keeping the structure perfect even when the bag is empty. It is a piece that stands out for its silhouette before its brand, and the black makes it suitable for much more than special occasions.
