L'Explorer II was introduced in 1971 for cavers and polar explorers, people who spend days without seeing sunlight and need to distinguish day from night. The solution is the orange 24-hour hand, paired with the fixed graduated bezel, which also allows a second time zone to be tracked. Reference 16570, produced for around twenty years, is its longest-running version: a 40 mm steel case, sapphire crystal with Cyclops lens, and an in-house automatic movement. The black dial with luminous markers highlights the contrast with the orange hand. L'exemplar, dating from 1998, is in good condition and comes complete with its original box and guarantee.
