The Triomphe takes its name from the clasp, which in turn takes its name from the Arc de Triomphe: in the 1970s, Céline Vipiana drew the monogram from the chains surrounding the monument. It’s that symmetrical two-part gold-tone metal clasp, crafted like a piece of jewelry, that makes this bag recognizable without a single word. The Classique is the most iconic model in the family — medium-sized, not the Teen — and in glossy black calfskin with a gold finish, it’s a timeless combination: wear it on the shoulder or crossbody; it’s suited to the office by day and dinner in the evening, and doesn’t need to be paired with anything.
