Epi leather is the material Louis Vuitton used to prove it could make bags without a monogram: its wavy grain, embossed on calfskin, was introduced in 1985, resists scratches and water better than any canvas, and ages without losing its shape. The Jasmin makes the most of it - with its clean structure, short double handles, and zip closure, it’s a top-handle bag that stands upright on its own on a desk, and in black, it doesn’t need to be matched with anything. It’s no longer in production, and black Epi bags are among the most sought-after on the pre-owned market.
