The Yacht-Master was introduced in 1992 as Rolex's sailing watch, and the 16622 is the version fitted with a solid platinum rotating bezel: a material Rolex uses on no other steel sports watch. The result is a watch that looks like a Submariner from a distance but not at all up close, with that warm grey tone platinum develops and never loses. This example dates from 2000.
Oystersteel case, 40 mm in diameter. Bidirectional rotating platinum bezel with a 60-minute graduated scale and raised numerals. Platinum-grey dial. Automatic in-house calibre 3135 movement, chronometer-certified. Steel Oyster bracelet with Oysterlock clasp. Water-resistant to 100 metres. Year of production: 2000.
