How to Restore the White Color of the Louis Vuitton Bag's Vachetta Leather

🧽 Step 1 – Surface cleaning with a soft cloth

Before deep cleaning, remove dust and surface residue.

Use a dry microfiber cloth, soft and clean, without wetting it.

⚠️ Never use wet wipes or alcohol.

🧼 Step 2 – Eraser (a pro trick)

Our favorite method – which we’ve also shared in our videos – is using a simple white eraser to erase HB pencils.

It may seem obvious, but it works perfectly:

• Rub the eraser gently but firmly over the vachetta, following the direction of the grain.

• You’ll immediately see the dirty surface layer start to “disappear.”

• Repeat several times, without rubbing too hard in any one spot.

✅ This method is perfect for removing dark marks, scuff marks, and light yellowing.

🪵 Step 3 – Finish with solid Marseille soap (optional)

For a deeper clean, you can use a natural, neutral soap, such as classic solid Marseille soap.

• Lightly dampen a clean white cloth.

• Rub it over the soap to create a very light lather, then apply it only to the vachetta, never to the canvas.

• Dry immediately.

⚠️ Never use chemical products, harsh creams, or colored conditioners: they can permanently stain the leather.

🌬️ Step 4 – Air-dry (never in the sun)

Leave the bag in a dry, well-ventilated place away from direct light.

Never use a hair dryer, radiators, or direct sunlight: the vachetta will dry out and may crack.
